If you live in a small space, you likely have a small kitchen. The problem is that to make a (small) kitchen functional you need quite a few tools. But how to store all those things in a small kitchen? Since I get this question all the time, I thought I’d do a round-up of my favorite things to store and organize in small kitchens.* Check them out in the following:
Elfa 7-Runner Mesh Prep Cart
A prep cart with drawers is a great way to add more storage in your small kitchen AND more counter space. I would call this a win-win situation! An added bonus (and why these carts are my absolute favorite for maximizing space in a small kitchen) is that they have rollers and thus can be moved easily –> key in a small space.
Industrial Chef’s Cart
Similar to the cart above, this cart adds counter and storage space – with the difference of shelf space instead of drawers.
Origami 3-Shelf Folding Rack
A rack that adds additional space is never a bad idea in a small kitchen. The features that make this particular rack perfect for these kinds of kitchens are the that it’s foldable and is rollable.
Bamboo Utensil Holder
I’m personally a big fan of storing utensils and/or silverware upright in a vertical container. It makes for easy accessibility and putting away.
3-Tier Hanging Basket
Key to maximizing space in a small kitchen is taking advantage of vertical space. This hanging basket just does that. Added bonus: if you fill it with healthy fruit that is literally dangling in front of your face every day, you might even be starting eating healthier. What’s not to love?
Mesh Compact Fridge Cart
This little rollable fridge cart can be the perfect solution if you live in a dorm. It’s designed to hold a mini fridge on top and adds storage space with mesh drawers. Perfect for dorm / small kitchen life in my eyes.
Stackable Glass Canister
I own these glass canisters myself and love them. If you fill them with your dry goods and line them up on your kitchen counter or shelf, it looks great and you see everything you have (instead of having to look through your packaged goods. On top of that, they’re stackable which is great if you need to maximize space.
Over The Cabinet Paper Towel Holder
Instead of taking up prime real estate on your counter, put your paper towel roll inside your cabinet door with this paper towel holder. Hidden but still easily accessible.
Artisan Glass Canister
These are some beautiful round glass canisters that look great in every kitchen. Added bonus: you can stack them!
Wooden Pot Rack
Pots and pans take up a lot of space. Enter this pot rack that makes use of vertical space and creates storage space for all your various pots and pans.
Wall Mount Rail
Do you have larger utensils or pans that don’t quite fit in your cabinets? This wall mounted rack might just be the solution you’re looking for.
Kitchen Pegboard Organizer
I loooove pegboards. You can use them in all kinds of areas to make use of your vertical wall space. In a small kitchen, use a pegboard to store cups, large utensils or pans. The possibilities are endless.
